Waldpark

PORT ONE BERLIN is transforming a part of the city into Berlin’s Waldpark

The unique landscaping of the grounds at PORT ONE BERLIN is inspired by the idea of the sponge city and includes the unsealing of large areas, among other features. Natural infiltration and evaporation will return stormwater runoff to the natural water cycle. Additional temporary reservoirs everywhere on the property support a resource-conserving rainwater management.

The intensive sustainable planting of various tall-growing trees will create naturally shaded areas and improve the urban microclimate.

Analogously, the generous landscaping of terraces and roof gardens consistently follows the site-specific approach, creating living environments for local fauna. Take bee colonies, squirrels or flocks of birds, the green concept enables native wildlife to exist within an urban environment. The link to the natural environment is plausibly pursued further inside the building. Gardens on numerous roof terraces on different levels are equally conducive to a healthy workplace climate.

Working in the green outdoors – the wooded park as a value added of your office property

Waldpark next door unifies nature, health benefits and modern work environments into a stimulating environment. The places being created here among trees, generous landscaping and pleasant shade will promote well-being, encourage exercise and generally stimulate the senses.
Whether you exercise or go for an energizing walk – the leafy setting will help you ease your stress level while providing lasting health benefits. At the same time, an outdoor workplace, quiet sanctuaries and feel-good oases help you focus and inspire fresh ideas – further enhanced by a barefoot trail and other features.
As a multifunctional place, Waldpark is ideal for getting together and comparing notes: The park could even double as an attractive venue to host meetings and workshops as well as outdoor events or leisurely garden parties.
Not least, the greenery helps to lower local carbon emissions and creates a healthy micro-climate. In short, Waldpark is a place that combines work, recreation and inspiration in a very special way.
